Table of content

According to ASU Now, we can expect steady, sustainable growth in Arizona in 2018. Arizona is growing, progressing and constantly on the move financially, industrially and technologically. These areas of growth will continue to attract people from other states. To keep up with population growth, Arizona is predicted to add 61,000 new jobs this year.

According to KTAR, Arizona could be among the top five states in the country when it comes to job and population growth. It’s important to note which jobs will be most secure, and in demand in the next year. According to Zippia, here is a list of the top 10 fastest growing professional jobs in Arizona.

  1. Operations Analyst
  2. Interpreter and Translator
  3. Web Developer
  4. Biomedical Engineer
  5. Business Analyst
  6. Loan Processor and Officer
  7. Information Security Analyst
  8. Customer Service Representative
  9. Software Developer
  10. Production Operator

In addition to job growth, ASU Now forecasts an increase in the hourly wage and housing market. Arizona’s average hourly wages will increase by about 4.5 percent this year. In fact, Arizona leads the nation in the growth of food-service jobs despite the increase in the minimum wage to $10 an hour in January. ASU Now also states that the local housing industry will also continue to recover with a 15 percent increase in the number of new single-family homes.

Arizona is expected to see benefits from the expected jobs, hourly wages, and housing growth. With this predicted growth, individuals will spend more and in return businesses will invest more, leading to a positive impact on Arizona’s economy.
