A nationally respected engineering and consulting firm focused on mission-critical facilities, high-performance buildings, and advanced infrastructure is seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead its multidisciplinary MEP organization. This leader will shape technical excellence, elevate process maturity, and guide a growing team delivering some of the most complex and reliability-driven projects in the industry.
About the Role

Establish and maintain the firm’s technical standards, design guidelines, and quality expectations

Lead the delivery of MEP design across mission-critical facilities, including data centers, industrial campuses, and large-scale infrastructure

Drive engineering decisions that balance performance, cost, constructability, sustainability, and future scalability

Oversee complex design reviews, resolve technical conflicts, and guide teams toward elegant, buildable solutions

Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of engineers, discipline leads, and technical managers

Strengthen collaboration between mechanical, electrical, plumbing, commissioning, and project management teams

Partner with project managers to ensure engineering milestones, budgets, and deliverables are met

Enhance workflows, templates, QA/QC processes, and digital tools to drive efficiency and consistency

Implement scalable systems that support expansion across new geographies, markets, or verticals

Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements while advancing best-in-class engineering practices

Serve as a senior technical voice in client interactions, presentations, and design strategy discussions

Build long-term trust with owners, developers, contractors, and partners

Support business development efforts through solution framing, scope definition, and strategic insights

Represent the engineering function in executive leadership meetings and cross-functional initiatives
Qualifications

15+ years of progressive experience in MEP engineering

8+ years leading technical teams, departments, or large projects

Professional Engineer (PE) license required

Expertise in complex building systems, mission-critical environments, and platforms such as Revit, BIM tools, and digital engineering workflows

Proven ability to grow teams, improve systems, and deliver at scale

Strong communication, executive presence, and decision-making under pressure

Experience in commissioning, sustainability, energy modeling, or digital operations
Location – Hybrid, based in Phoenix
Compensation- 220-225k+ DOE, plus performance incentives and full benefits
