Project Accountant
Location : Hybrid in Phoenix
Compensation : $60-80k
As a Project Accountant, you’ll play a key role in keeping projects financially accurate and operationally smooth. You’ll manage the full subcontractor invoice cycle—from collection and review through posting—ensuring all financial activity is properly documented. You’ll support monthly reconciliations for subcontractor invoices, owner billing, business-unit overhead, and corporate credit card activity, maintaining precise and timely records.
Job Duties

Manage the full subcontractor invoice process from collection and review through posting

Reconcile subcontractor invoices, owner billing, overhead invoices, and credit card statements on a monthly basis

Track and maintain lien notices and subcontractor compliance requirements

Collaborate with project teams to verify all required documentation is complete before subcontractor onboarding

Assist with initial project budget setup and support monthly cost forecasting

Support accounts receivable, accounts payable, ACH payment processing, and electronic approval routing

Help oversee payment and compliance workflows using project accounting software

Partner with senior accounting staff and internal systems/IT teams to improve processes and enhance workflow efficiency

Provide general financial and administrative support to ensure accurate and timely project accounting
Qualifications

1+ years of accounting experience, ideally with exposure to project-based or construction-related accounting

Strong understanding of financial processes within a project-driven environment

Experience using project accounting or payment management software (preferred, not required)

Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through
