Marketing Specialist
Location: Mesa / Tempe, Arizona
Compensation: $55,000–$65,000 annually (based on experience)
Overview
We are seeking a Marketing Specialist to lead the execution of all local marketing efforts for a dynamic athletic club and events venue. This position is highly execution-focused, responsible for organizing, coordinating, and delivering marketing initiatives that drive engagement, membership growth, and event participation. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings structure, consistency, and accountability to day-to-day marketing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Development and Campaign Execution
Develop and implement weekly marketing materials and promotional assets, including event promotions, member offers, pricing updates, digital displays, email visuals, and social media content. This includes both static posts and short-form video content to support ongoing campaigns.
Email Marketing and Digital Platforms
Manage the day-to-day execution of email marketing initiatives, including customer segmentation, targeted campaigns, and engagement programs. Oversee content displayed on in-venue digital screens and track performance metrics to optimize results.
Membership and Loyalty Initiatives
Support the growth of membership and loyalty programs by driving sign-ups, monitoring weekly performance metrics, and ensuring staff are informed and trained on program offerings. Create marketing materials that promote retention and engagement while assisting with member-focused events.
Event Marketing Execution
Partner with leadership to plan and promote events from concept through execution. Develop promotional strategies and materials, assist with onsite activations, and capture content during events to support ongoing marketing efforts.
Content Creation and Social Media Management
Capture weekly photo and video content onsite. Write engaging captions, schedule posts, and maintain a consistent and organized social media calendar to ensure steady audience engagement.
Marketing Calendar Management
Take full ownership of the marketing execution calendar by planning, updating, and aligning weekly initiatives with broader campaign goals. Coordinate timelines for asset creation, schedule events and promotions in advance, lead weekly planning meetings, and provide performance updates to senior leadership.
Community and Local Marketing Outreach
Lead local marketing efforts by building relationships and executing outreach initiatives with community organizations, including chambers of commerce, nearby businesses, apartment communities, and schools. Coordinate grassroots marketing activities such as flyer distribution, local activations, and community events.
Qualifications
2–5+ years of hands-on experience executing marketing campaigns
Proven ability to build and maintain community partnerships and local relationships
