An established, privately held custom home builder in the Phoenix metro area is adding a senior finance leader to own the accounting function and work directly with ownership. The ideal candidate will approach finance and accounting with a growth mindset, partnering with executive leadership to provide thoughtful and data-backed analysis and projections to meet growth objectives. This individual will also work with the executive team to streamline current processes and recommend technology implementation that will directly contribute to the success of the business.
What You’ll Do:
- Own all accounting functions, including general ledger and monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting
- Manage construction billing, including AIA billings and lien waivers
- Partner with ownership on forecasting, projections, and risk management
- Deliver financial analysis that informs project and business decisions
- Lead an accounting system upgrade and streamline manual processes
- Work alongside an in-house AP/AR team member
- Represent the company in financial meetings with clients
What We’re Looking For:
- Construction accounting experience, from a homebuilder or small general contractor
- QuickBooks experience
- Working knowledge of AIA billing and lien waivers
- Systems-oriented and tech savvy, with genuine interest in automation and AI tools
- Strategic financial planning and forecasting
- Professional presence to lead financial conversations with high-net-worth clients
Position Details:
- Location: Scottsdale, on-site
- Compensation: $120,000–$150,000 DOE, with flexibility for the right background
- Bonus: Discretionary annual bonus
