Benefits Account Manager
Location: Scottsdale, Arizona (Hybrid)
A growing third-party administrator (TPA) is seeking a Benefits Account Manager to support employer-sponsored health plans and serve as a key point of contact for client relationships. This role is ideal for someone who understands the mechanics of health benefits administration and enjoys working closely with clients to ensure a high level of service, accuracy, and responsiveness.
In this position, you will manage a portfolio of employer groups, acting as the primary liaison between clients, brokers, and internal teams. You will help ensure smooth plan administration, resolve issues, and provide guidance on benefits-related questions while maintaining strong, long-term relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day service needs for a book of business consisting of self-funded employer health plans
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and broker partners, ensuring timely and professional communication
- Coordinate with internal departments including claims, eligibility, and customer service to resolve issues and ensure accurate plan administration
- Support open enrollment processes, plan implementations, and ongoing client education
- Review reports, monitor plan activity, and proactively identify opportunities to improve service delivery
- Maintain detailed documentation and ensure compliance with plan provisions and administrative processes
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in health benefits, preferably within a TPA, carrier, or brokerage environment
- Strong understanding of self-funded health plans and benefits administration
- Ability to manage multiple client relationships and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with benefits administration systems or reporting tools is a plus
