Marketing Manager
Location: Mesa / Tempe, Arizona
Compensation: $60,000–$70,000 annually (based on experience)

Overview
We are seeking a Marketing Manager to lead both the strategy and execution of local marketing initiatives for a dynamic athletic club and events venue. This role places a strong emphasis on developing comprehensive marketing plans for events and building, managing, and optimizing customer loyalty programs within a retail-driven environment.

This position is highly execution-focused but requires a strategic mindset to plan, organize, and deliver marketing initiatives that drive engagement, increase event attendance, strengthen customer retention, and support overall revenue growth. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings structure, creativity, and accountability to day-to-day marketing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Event Marketing Strategy and Execution
Develop and own marketing plans for all events, from initial concept through post-event analysis. Create targeted promotional strategies to drive attendance and participation, including digital campaigns, in-venue promotions, partnerships, and grassroots efforts. Coordinate timelines, messaging, and deliverables to ensure each event is fully supported and successfully executed.

Customer Loyalty Program Development and Management
Build, execute, and continuously improve customer loyalty and retention programs designed for a retail environment. Develop campaigns to drive enrollment, repeat visits, and customer engagement. Analyze program performance, track key metrics, and implement enhancements to increase customer lifetime value. Partner with onsite teams to ensure seamless execution and strong customer adoption.

Creative Development and Campaign Execution
Develop and implement weekly marketing materials and promotional assets, including event promotions, member offers, pricing updates, digital displays, email visuals, and social media content. This includes both static posts and short-form video content to support ongoing campaigns.

Email Marketing and Digital Platforms
Manage the day-to-day execution of email marketing initiatives, including customer segmentation, targeted campaigns, and lifecycle marketing tied to events and loyalty programs. Oversee content displayed on in-venue digital screens and track performance metrics to optimize results.

Content Creation and Social Media Management
Capture weekly photo and video content onsite, with a focus on promoting upcoming events and highlighting customer experiences. Write engaging captions, schedule posts, and maintain a consistent and organized social media calendar aligned with event and loyalty initiatives.

Marketing Calendar Management
Take full ownership of the marketing calendar, aligning event campaigns, promotions, and loyalty initiatives into a cohesive plan. Coordinate timelines for asset creation, schedule campaigns in advance, lead weekly planning meetings, and provide performance updates to senior leadership.

Community and Local Marketing Outreach
Lead local marketing efforts by building relationships and executing outreach initiatives with community organizations, including chambers of commerce, nearby businesses, apartment communities, and schools. Leverage these partnerships to support event promotion and drive participation in loyalty programs.

Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on experience creating and executing marketing campaigns, with a strong emphasis on event marketing and customer loyalty or retention programs within a retail, hospitality, or similar environment.
Proven ability to develop marketing plans for events and drive measurable results through customer engagement and retention strategies.
Experience building and maintaining community partnerships and executing local marketing initiatives.
