Certified Payroll Specialist (Construction | Davis-Bacon)

We are seeking an experienced Certified Payroll Specialist to support weekly payroll processing for construction employees working on government-funded projects. This role is ideal for someone with a strong command of Davis-Bacon and prevailing wage compliance who enjoys detail-oriented work and ensuring regulatory accuracy.

What You’ll Do

• Process weekly certified payroll for several hundred employees working on government construction projects in multiple states

• Create, review, and audit certified payroll reports to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws

• Verify prevailing wage rates, fringe benefits, classifications, and apprenticeship requirements by project

• Cross-check payroll data against project documents and employee records to identify and resolve discrepancies

• Investigate and resolve potential compliance issues in collaboration with project managers and field personnel

• Maintain accurate documentation and stay current on changing labor and wage regulations

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of certified payroll experience in the construction industry

• Hands-on experience with Davis-Bacon and prevailing wage requirements

• Proven experience processing weekly payroll

• Strong attention to detail and ability to audit complex payroll data

• Experience with any payroll software; training provided on Sage

Schedule & Compensation

• On-site | Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

• $28–$35 per hour, depending on experience

• Temporary with the possibility for hire
