Key Responsibilities:
- Estimate Complex Projects: Analyze and prepare detailed estimates for major civil infrastructure projects, including underground utilities, earthwork, traffic maintenance, street improvements, and more.
- Lead Bid Processes: Manage the end-to-end bidding process by performing accurate quantity take-offs, preparing unit price estimates, and using cost estimation software.
- Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with project owners, subcontractors, suppliers, and team members to ensure comprehensive, competitive, and winning proposals.
- Ensure Quality and Precision: Interpret contract documents, drawings, and specifications thoroughly to deliver accurate, competitive cost proposals.
- Leverage Technology: Utilize advanced estimating software such as HCSS Heavy Bid, OnScreen Takeoff, AutoCAD 3D, Microsoft Office Suite, and more to ensure efficiency and precision.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering, with at least 10+ years of preconstruction/estimating experience on major commercial construction projects.
- Expertise: Deep knowledge of civil construction, including foundation, structural, and utility systems, as well as finishes, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in estimating software, spreadsheets, and bid management tools. Familiarity with tools like Bluebeam, AutoCAD 3D, and HCSS Heavy Bid is a must.
- Communication & Teamwork: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Problem-Solver: Resourceful and proactive in overcoming challenges, with strong organizational skills and an ability to adapt to changing conditions.
Salary: $180,000 – $230,000 DOE
