Join Our Team: Field Service Technician – Power Systems Specialist
Are you a skilled Field Service Technician with expertise in uninterruptible power supply (UPS), backup power systems, and power distribution equipment? We’re looking for an experienced professional with a strong technical background in electricity and batteries, a passion for problem-solving, and a commitment to outstanding customer service.
What You’ll Do
- Perform maintenance and repairs on single- and three-phase UPS systems, power quality, and distribution equipment.
- Provide expert technical support and advice to customers on operational and maintenance issues.
- Deliver exceptional customer service with clear and professional communication.
- Plan and manage maintenance activities efficiently to meet customer needs and maximize productivity.
- Maintain detailed service documentation and report all activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
What You Bring
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years working with UPS systems and/or emergency power systems. Hands-on experience with major UPS brands such as Vertiv, Powerware, Schneider, Liebert, Emerson, etc., is a plus.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of single- and three-phase systems, AC/DC circuit theory, and ability to interpret technical documents and schematics.
- Skills: Proficiency in using test equipment, effective communication, and a high level of organization for reporting and documentation.
- Education: Associate degree in electricity, electronics, or a related field is preferred, though relevant experience may substitute.
- Flexibility: Available for a rotating on-call schedule (2 weeks on, 4 weeks off) and willing to travel locally and out-of-state for short durations.
- Other Requirements: Clean driving record, ability to pass a background check, and computer literacy.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary starting at $80-120K+ (DOE)
- Stable work schedule promoting work-life balance (eligible for OT, but generally work a standard schedule outside of on-call weeks)
