Job Title: Entertainment Events Director

The Entertainment Events Director will develop, manage, and deliver dynamic arts and entertainment programs that reflect the diversity and creativity of the community. You’ll curate exciting events, from weekly performances to large-scale festivals, while creating opportunities for local artists to shine. Working closely with residents, educators, and cultural partners, you’ll bring fresh ideas to life, driving connection and engagement through the arts.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development & Management
- Create and implement engaging entertainment and arts programming, including live music, art exhibitions, workshops, and cultural festivals.
- Develop platforms to promote local artists and performers, with a particular focus on accessible, grassroots opportunities.
- Organize signature events and celebrations that highlight cultural diversity and artistic traditions.
- Balance a range of artistic experiences, including music, theater, dance, film, and visual arts.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
- Collaborate with local artists, schools, and organizations to foster a vibrant, inclusive arts culture.
- Build partnerships with educational institutions, arts organizations, and cultural leaders to provide enrichment programs and workshops.
- Serve as a liaison to residents, gathering feedback to create programming that reflects community interests and needs.
Budget Oversight & Fund Development
- Manage program budgets to deliver high-quality, cost-effective events.
- Identify and secure sponsorships, grants, and funding opportunities to grow and expand arts initiatives.
- Oversee logistics, permits, and contracts, ensuring seamless execution of events.
Promoting Diversity & Inclusion
- Develop programs that celebrate cultural diversity and global artistic traditions, ensuring inclusivity across all events.
- Prioritize representation of underrepresented artists and communities in programming and partnerships.
- Use the arts to promote cultural understanding, belonging, and connection within the community.
Educational Programming & Outreach
- Design educational programs for all age groups, offering workshops, lectures, and skill-building opportunities in music, dance, theater, and visual arts.
- Partner with schools to provide creative enrichment programs that inspire children and teens.
- Mentor and support emerging artists, offering opportunities for professional growth and exposure.
Who You Are:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Music, Arts Administration, Performing Arts, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- At least 5 years of experience leading arts or entertainment programming, ideally in community-based or nonprofit settings.
- Proven experience working with diverse professionals across the arts and cultural sectors.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Visionary leadership with the ability to create and deliver exceptional programming.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, balancing multiple events and priorities.
- Excellent communication skills to connect with artists, residents, and community stakeholders.
- Financial acumen, including budget management, contract negotiations, and fund development.
- Passion for arts advocacy, diversity, and building inclusive spaces that inspire creativity and connection.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with multicultural organizations or creating programming for diverse audiences.
- An established network of contacts in the music, arts, and cultural industries, particularly in Florida or the Southeastern U.S.
- A pulse on trends in community arts and entertainment programming.
